Nicole's answer is incorrect. Or at least incomplete. Publishers decide whether or not books are lendable.
If they are, you can go to your Kindle Library on Amazon. Com, and select to lend your books to another person's Kindle. If you do so, the lending period is a maximum of 2 weeks, and it can only be done once per book, for the lifetime of your ownership of that book.
