Can I Make Items To Sell Using Free Online Sewing Patterns?

Free sewing patterns are given to supply a need to newborns in need, charity work, etc. And returning the finished work to the organization supplying pattern.

You must ask permission to use the pattern for commercial purposes. If you do not ask, then changes must be made to the pattern, whereby the pattern is similar, not exact. In some instances, one can create a pattern and see it on another site.

If you create a pattern and see it somewhere else, without permission and your proof of a copyright or pattern, you can contact that person and ask not to use for commercial purposes. This is what the "free" means. Without permission, you cannot use.

Only if it's clearly marked on the site that you can use the pattern for commercial purposes.

My personal feeling is that you should be able to use them any way you see fit. Legally it depends on the publisher and/or creator of the pattern. I restore and republish vintage patterns and offer some for free and some for sale.

All of my patterns can be freely used, as that was the purpose of preserving and republishing them. I hate to see these treasures lost and forgotten.

I say sure why not ...u put in the time and effort to produce this piece of art so I believe it is yours to do with as you like.

Most patterns offered will indicate whether you can or can't use them for sale. I suggest you don't copy them exactly, in other words, make the design or pattern your own by changing it up a bit.

Also, if the pattern isn't marked whether you can use it for sale, try emailing the originator and ask for their permission.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
