Can I put ddr3 graphic card in ddr2 motherboard?

. Intel 845ge motherboard has PCI slots (old).. you can buy a graphic card of this slot.. but I would recommend you to get a motherboard with PCI express 2.0 slots.. nowadays almost every graphic card supports this slot.. these new cards consume less power.. and good for gaming..

As long as your motherboard has a graphics bus(slot) then you can install a card on your motherboard... however it depends on which slot it has... most modern motherboards will have the pci-express x16 slot.. however older boards may only have the ageing agp x8 slot however some may just have a basic pci slot... and allthough this severely limits your choice of card there are still some budget cards that can support this slot so first of all download a program such as "sisoft sandra lite" from http://www.sisoftware.co.uk/?d=&f=downan... then when you have installed it look at the "computer overview" and you will be able to discover which bus slot your motherboard supports you can also look at the "mainboard" catergory which will give you more detailed information... however as soon as you know which slot your pc supports you can then look for your choice of graphic card also its a good idea to check what power supply(psu) you have since some graphic cards may require additional power... for example a card such as the geforce 9800gt requires a 450w or more psu with at least 25A or more on the +12v rail .... however the cards specs will inform you on the psu requirements for whichever card you buy.... finally make sure your card will physically fit in your case... some mid and high end cards are pretty big and won't fit in smaller cases... however there are "low profile" cards which have "half length" brackets allowing them to fit inside "small form factor" pc cases....
