1 Regarding VMWare Fusion:While this package does offer DirectX 3D support not currently found in Parallels, I don't recommend using it. First, it's still in beta, where Parallels is a polished product that's usable for daily productivity tasks. Second, Parallels does intend to add this functionality in a later release.

The most recent release of Parallels Desktop for Macintosh (Version 2.0, build 3188) offers "full support for OS X and Windows Vista." I can verify from my own installation that Vista works nicely for general purposes...subject, of course, to the laundry list of items that don't work with Vista on any kind of hardware. I strongly suggest having at least 2GB of memory and allotting a full 1024MB to the virtual machine.
If you need to use any kind of VPN to tap into an office network, you'll also need to set up bridged networking.
