Can I still have sex if I have HPV warts?

It is best to avoid sex during a HPV wart outbreak. While not as contagious as herpes they are still quite contagious. With that being said, a condom is a good protection for your partner but not foolproof.

Unfortunately, condoms can slip or allow for direct contact which then opens your partner up to contracting the disease. The big problem for guys is they likely will not ever show any signs or have any trouble from HPV. This can allow them to continue to pass on the disease without ever knowing they have it.

If you are in a committed, monogamous relationship, especially a marriage you might decide to avoid this advice. Likely sometime during your marriage your partner will contract the disease and you could continue to pass it back and forth. Even though you will likely both be positive it is still advisable to refrain from sex during an outbreak.
