Can my second generiion ipod touch be ugraded with the ios4.2?

Nope, apple updates don't support itouch 2g's anymore sorry! Only 3g and 4g!

Plug it in and press update ipod on itunes and it may take a while but it makes it all up to date.

Yes it can Plug it into iTunes and click UPGRADE and it will upgrade to ios4.2.1 I did the same way with my iPod touch 2gen.

2nd gens can upgrade to 4.2 but no higher, because apple stops supporting, which is a ripoff.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
