Can Odessa Permian regain the magic?

By Txprepsfootball staff Intrigue in Texas High School Football spawned a book, a movie and a television series, and the Odessa Permian Panthers were at the forefront of it all. From it's inception in 1959 it was clear that football at Odessa Permian in this West Texas oil-driven town was a focal point for the community. Permian went 8-3 and won the district championship in only their second year of existence, and by the mid-sixties the Panthers won their first state championship, coined the term "Mojo" , and began to establish an unequaled tradition of excellence over the next 30 years.

The Panthers won state championships in '65, 72', 80', 84', 89', and 91', and were crowned mythical national champions in 1972 and 1989. From 1970-1989 they won almost 90% of their games, going 231-25-7, and have won almost 78% of their games since the inception of the school, going 441-123-12. As the Panthers reputation grew so did the intimidation factor.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
