Dude, I am Saudi and Saudi Arabia doesn't make sense to me either lol As for following the Sharia law yeah we have to do that, not entirely but most of the time we do. Some things that are considered sins in Islam are for some reason allowed in Saudi Arabia, like smoking for example but other things are punishable although Sharia doesn't say anything about them. We don't have to have male guardians with us 24/7.

We do need our male guardians when we go to court or the police for example because they would only allow us their with male guardians but we don't need them to go to the mall or the hospital or wherever (maybe to drive us there ,since we are not allowed to drive, but not to accompany us all the time) The girls here are kind of the same as other girls from all around the world. They like to go to the malls and throw parties (No men allowed though lol) and have fun. What's wrong with COD?

I play COD and GTA and love them! Yes we can use Yahoo answers A random guy can't go up and talk to a random girl, the girl would be like wtf and he would be considered rude. However, men and women who work in mixed working places talk to each other and it's not something frowned upon.

White Raven Your views on Saudi Arabia are so negative lol Praying 5 times is not tradition, that's our religion. All Muslims around the world do that! Saying it's a Saudi tradition is like saying going to Church on Sundays is an American thing, just wrong.

Our calender is synced up with the moon because of religious reasons. We do use both Calenders though, however, to determine when Hajj is or Ramadan we use the lunar calendar only. I agree with you that young people are confused.

I am not that young (Iam 23 btw) but I find all of this so confusing. When my mom tells me about her life when she was my age she clearly didn't experience the same things I do. She says the family used to sit together with their visitors (both men and women) in the same room and women will only cover their hair.

They believed it is allowed in Islam to do this. They were following an Islamic school of thought (Shafi'i) that didn't believe in face cover. I Nowadays, if you sit together with men and women in Saudi Arabia you will be called westernized!

Schools teach you only one school of thoughts (Hanbaliah) that believes in the face cover. The government is killing the diversity in the kingdom, in the south for example 50 years ago women didn't cover their faces. They dressed in colourful dresses and Hijab.

But the government forced them to wear the Abaya (which was worn in Najd and parts of Eastern Saudi Arabia). Child marriage still exists here which breaks my heart tbh but people are not okay with it. Most people want a law passed against it but for some reason there isn't any.. even the grand Mufti is against child marriage so I don't know what is keeping the government from passing a law.

We don't believe prayer absolve us from sins lol That sounds like Catholics with their confession booth or whatever it's called. What we actually believe is that your prayer should keep you from sinning and if not then you're not paying much attention to it. When you sin then that's up to God to forgive or punish you in judgement day unless you repent and never made the same sin again.

However, that's only about small sins like lying but when you steal, rape, kill or do some horrible thing that affects other people's lives then it's up to them to forgive you and be rewarded by God for their forgiveness or not. And about the Music part lol we have Music since forever so I don't get how that is a new thing thrown at us lol I love my wife.

Thank you for being smart. A lot of American think that Saudi women get beaten up everyday and their life is miserable. If you visit Saudi Arabia you will be shocked how people are living there.

I have been to many countries in Europe and the United States and I can tell you that Saudi have the best standard living. Many Saudi women travel by themselves without guardian. Don't think that Saudi women work for their money.

I bet you $10000 if you find a Saudi waitress or cleaner. You will never see it anywhere.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
