I am not going to go through all of this as I have done it lots of times before. As for your point 1 which you believe ends the debate, well clearly it doesn't. 1)ICC changed the rule for spinners and also for the pace bowlers!
If ICC changed rules for Murali only then why on earth did they change the rule for fast bowlers too? THIS WHOLE ARGUMENT ENDS HERE! The reason why was because like all rules be them related to cricket or laws for things in normal life, they were normally created back in the early days and every so often when someone comes along that questions the relevance of those rules/laws they get updated.
Back in the day that the original laws were created, women were only any good for giving birth and putting dinner on the table when the husband got home. As time has progressed in most first world countries women are treated equally and given equal rights to men. When the laws were changed re the degrees of flex, views and opinions had changed somewhat so that equal rights was something on the table that weren't on the table when the original rule was made (this explains why it was different for spinners and pace bowlers).
If they changed the degrees of flex so greatly for spin bowlers then a huge uproar would have happened if the pace bowlers also did not get it increased as well and then if they changed the pacers to 20 degrees and spinners to 15 degrees again a huge uproar would have been made by spinners, but as it was it was increasing it fairly for all types of bowlers. That is the first time I have seen that particular video, but I could still not see what they were talking about with regards to the shoulder doing strange things. It did not look like his shoulder did anything different to any person when they attempt to bowl like an off spinner.
None of the pushes and attempted bends that Ravi Shastri did or whoever the commentator was were even mildly forceful. You could see with the very light push that Murali's arm had done to it that it did reduce in bend so he was putting it on a bit for the camera. Anyone can put things on for the camera if they know the spotlight is going to be on them trying to emphasise one point to prove they are doing something against the rules.
You could also see when the arm brace was on that he did not get the same turn that he normally would have as he could not flex as much as he normally would do in match conditions.
Here’s the thing though. The rule change for the fast bowlers has something to do with the bio. Tests proving that even Pollock who pretend to have the cleanest action, had flexed the arm beyond 10 degrees So that was strongly taken in to consideration while changing the rule by ICC.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
