Can some foods give male cats urinary tract infections?

Foods can contribute to feline UTIs. One issue that all cat owners face is fluid intake. Adequate water intake is important for urinary tract health, but cats aren't really built to drink a lot.In the wild, they eat dead animals and end up taking in fluids through their diet.

House cats, though, are often fed dry food which doesn't have the same moisture content. Finally, if you have a cat who gets UTIs a lot, ask the vet about the acidity of your cat's urine. A urine sample will let the vet test the pH, and the wrong acidity can contribute to the growth of bacteria in the urinary tract. Diet definitely plays a part in the urine's acidity.
