The problem with a utopia is defined in the meaning of utopia itself. Ou, greek, essentially represents 'not' and tops, greek, essentially represents 'a place'. Not a place.
The latin term was coined by Sir Thomas More as the title of a book which described a perfect society on an imaginary island. See, we can imagine it all we want but the fact of the matter is perfection can not exist. The battle between good, and evil, in any form or function, is one that can never truly be one.In a way, human beings are exemplary of this fact.
Though many people see things in a good way, everyone with equality, no one above another, the fact is that people will always exist that do. For every Ghandi, there is a Stalin, for every Mother Theresa an Adolf On a more existential level, we can take light, versus darkness. Imagine, for instance, if light did not exist.
Without light there would be no definition for darkness because we would not know anything else. Dark just would not be, because light would not be for us to understand it. Without the bad, horrible people out there to fight against, life would cease to have purpose.
If everything were perfect, there would be no reason to live. Life would become.. well, dreadfully boring. Some times, I guess, we can imagine a perfect society, but it is unwise to ever hope for it.
To hope for a perfect society is like a game of tic tac toe, an exercise in futility. It is better to imagine a world where more people fight for the right thing than fight for the wrong, and hope that one day, you will experience the closest thing to perfection we can get in this life, that being one soft, quiet moment with the one you care for the most. A moment, together, where for one short, beautiful moment, you can forget the horrors of our wars, the evils of our hands, the cruelty of our tongues, and you can truly experience peace.
Lawyer Max Ehrmann wrote a poem called Desiderata, which begins with the line, "Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. " I think perhaps Mister Ehrmann is quite right.
I can honestly say I see only one reason that there is not a free world: ignorance. Through education we could all be understanding and respectful of one anothers beleifs. I do not have to believe what you believe, but I can allow you to believe whatever you wish.
That is not an easy task. Man has been taught his prejudice for eons and eons, and they are incredibily difficult to overcome. But through education it could be done.
Humans sometimes are such creatures of excellence and intelligence. We have the capacity to put ignorance and fear aside. It's actually an exercise in desire.Do we really want to live in a free world?
America was founded on the these principles, but look at us now. We are full of fear and ignorance and that consumes us to the point of paralysis. We can no longer function.
Could man live in a free world, oh yes. But only when we put aside our petty differences and celebrate our diversity.( My name is not Pollyanna).
I think the whole mankind should be brainwashed to achieve this. The best thing about the world that we live in, is that everyone can have his own opinion. Some people like it and some people not.
I hope we will never live in a world that you describe, like the V series ;) Everyone will act and look the same and it simply will be boring!
A world without restrictions would be a world with no rule which is the definition ofanarchy. People all over the world need boundarie in order to live with one another. What I believe you are searching for is a world without skeptics, hypocrites and critics.
That is an entirely different matter. The restrictions of nationality, religion, language, culture, or political ideology are imbued with men’s ideals, wants, desires, needs and prejudices. There are some of these restrictions that can benefit people when they are used as guidelines rather than baseball bats.
Unfortunately, when people get power no matter what the area this power may engulf, it can corrupt them and give them the wrong perception of themselves. When corrupt people are in power, hypocrisy is a symptom of their corruption. They sometimes become the “do as I say, not as I do,†people.
These same corrupt rulers then become critics of everything and everyone that is different. That’s when disagreements become monumental and those who show any dissent, are labeled traitors, hate mongers and troublemakers. In the not so distant past, there was a time when people of all persuasion, could coexist without "angst" and distrust.
Most people believed in the adage, “live and let live. € It has dramatically changed since we have become a litigious society with more focus on the “I,†rather than the “Us. €.
Maybe if we all unite together and try our best then sure one day we will have a place without all those restrictions. However,to achieve that kind of success everyone must be devoted towards it.
I think the only way we can have a "free" world is through mahalo.com/war war. I hate to say it but it's war that broke us the U.S.S.R. as each country fought for its freedom against mahalo.com/communist communist regime. In order for every country that is under tyrannical reign to achieve freedom, they must fight against the dictator or have other countries fight for their cause. It's frowned upon by the world to attack a country unprovoked so it's not like we can go rescue the people in mahalo.com/Somalia Somalia or the mahalo.com/Congo Congo.
There must be an uprising from within the country, among the people. So before you can see freedom you will see war.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
