My daughter is going to a Musical Theatre Camp where they are doing this show. I can glean from the title that the two biggest parts are Belle and the Beast. But can someone tell me how the Lumiere figures into the show?
The Director asked me a few times if I thought my daughter can handle it. Is this a big part? I guess I should find a way to see the show now... Asked by HankMoody 29 months ago Similar questions: answer question musical Beauty Beast Entertainment.

Beauty and the Beast is a musical with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice... Beauty and the Beast is a musical with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice and a book by Linda Woolverton, based on the 1991 Disney film of the same name. The musical ran on Broadway for 5,464 performances between 1994 and 2007, becoming Broadway's sixth-longest running production. The production holds the record of being the longest running production at both the Palace Theatre, where it opened, and the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, where it closed its Broadway run.
The musical has grossed more than $1.4 billion worldwide and played in thirteen countries and 115 cities. It has also become a very popular choice for high school productions. Produced by Disney Theatrical, a fully owned subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company, the show debuted on Broadway three years after the release of the movie.
A National Tour is scheduled to begin in 2010. According to an article in The Houston Chronicle, written by Everett Evans, "TUTS executive director Frank Young had been trying to get Disney interested in a stage version of Beauty about the same time Eisner and Katzenberg were mulling over Frank Rich's column. But Young couldn't seem to get in touch with the right person in the Disney empire.
Nothing happened till the Disney execs started to pursue the project from their end. When they asked George Ives, the head of Actors Equity on the West Coast, which Los Angeles theater would be the best venue for launching a new musical, Ives said the best theater for that purpose would be TUTS. Not long after that, Disney's Don Frantz and Bettina Buckley contacted Young, and the partnership was under way."

1 I don't know what the part entails in the stage play, but the role in the animated feature film is a large and important one. Lumiere is both a narrator, of sorts and the third most important character in the story. I have included a link here, Hank to the "bio" for the character on IMdB.

2 Lumiere is one of the main and most important characters! Great role! He sings "Be Our Guest"--youtube.com/watch?v=KE6L7ID1kS4 .

3 Yes, Lumiere is a large featured role and your daughter needs to have talent, acting ability and a very out going personality. Usually the role is given to a male (because Lumiere, who is a candelabra come to life) is a male character but I guess in a school production the director takes what he can get. So she needs to be able to act like a guy...but it's a bit of a dandy, frou-frou Frenchman with a lot of personality and pizazz. It's the sort of role that in the right hands can steal the show!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
