SSDI and state disabililty It is unusual that this happens - usually applications for SSDI take about 2 years to complete and usually depend on the state certification that the disability is valid. These are two separate entities - did you start getting the SSDI already? I suspect you won't until the state coverage runs out.

You may however get Medicare and other benefits related to SSDI. Contact your State office of disability for clarification and/or Social Security. Don't be afraid to do that because if they cannot be paid at the same time and just happen to be paid, they will get their money back, you can be sure!.

If your state funding exceed that, I don't know how you could ask for less without their investigating your income and perhaps stopping your state funding altogether.

You are allowed to earn or collect some additional money over and above social security disability but I don't know how much. It isn't a lot. Check their website or call them.

2 I am telling you I know this. I am shock & feel blessed also. I applied for SSDI in march of 09 & after evalution of me they dated my disability back to 11/08.

After 5mos ( wait period ) which brings me to April & they back paied me to then. @ 1st I recieved a couple of SSI checks & then the SSDI checks came minus whatever SSI payments I recieved. I applied 03/09 & by 06/09 tons of back pay & regular checks were coming.

Now as I stated in my Question --- When I applied for SSDI @ the same time I applied for State DI. So can I still collect State DI till 03/2110 while collecting SSDI .

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
