You would have to have a crystal ball to guess what Google is going to do with their search algos. Most of the chatter I read (and I read a lot of SEO blogs etc.) says Penguin hasn't been updated in a long time. Some are saying it's coming by the end of this year.
I have read that Google is going to enable real-time (instead of waiting until Google manually verifies them) link disavowing through Search Console(what used to be Webmaster Tools) but that really has nothing to do with the algorithm itself. One can only guess that their going to do that because their tweaking the algo to look for (more) "spammy" backlinks- that is links all coming from a single domain or related domains and link with the same anchor text. Another thing you might want to look at is if you have a lot of backlinks through PBNs (private blog networks); people were buying old expired domains with high PR's and putting blogs in them with articles in the same "niche" as their site-then pointing all the external links back to their site to pass PR.
I suspect Google will address this in the next update- but there's no way to say for sure as there are an awful lot of what-ifs etc.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
