Yes. Fedex makes three delivery attempts in most cases. (The exceptions are rare, and should not concern you) If the tracking information tells you when the driver was by today, you can **usually** make the assumption that he/she will be there at nearly the same time (give or take about an hour).
This is *not* a guarantee, though. The routes are determined by the package loading, and the most efficient route that the computor software comes up with. If delivery time is still an issue for you, you might consider calling Fedex (1-800-Go Fedex) and requesting that the package be held at a local Fedex retail location (Fedex Kinkos).
This will give you more options for picking it up on your own time.
