Please don't answer if you don't have personal experience. I am looking for a nice, clean place near downtown for the second week of January for a price 80-100 Euros/night. Thanks Asked by yankee 60 months ago Similar questions: suggest mid price places stay Prague Games & Leisure > Travel.

Hotel Prokopka, easy 10 min bus ride to center, clean/decent place, cheap, nice staff (speak eng) I stayed in the Hotel Prokopka for a few nights in August of this year. It's an easy ride to the city center by public transportation, about 10 minutes. There are also taxi's that hang around the center, so those come in handy once the buses stop running... pretty cheap ride to the hotel, maybe translates to about 4 or 5 euro.
I walked once, haha, so that is also possible, it just took awhile ;)Here are the prices for January:800 CZK for single room with private facilities | 1200 CZK for double room with private facilities.650 CZK for single room in apartment | 1000 CZK for double room in apartment.300 CZK for extra bed in room with private facilities or in apartment room. All prices incl. Breakfast and taxes.
Hotel offers wi-fi connection to internet for free in all rooms......The Euros to Crowns (CZK) exchange rate is about 1 to 28, so the double room with private facilities woudl cost about 43 Euro. This is a lot cheaper than what you wanted, but from my experience, thigns in the Czech Republic just seemed to be somewhat cheaper, relative to other places in Europe - food, beer, hotel accomodations, public transportation, etc. So an 80 to 100 Euro range might put you in a much nicer place, closer to the city center. Though the Hotel Prokopka is definitely fine, the rooms were clean, there was a nice breakfast the next day (cold - meat, cheese, bread, spreads, some veggies, musli, juice, coffee).
THe staff was nice and they spoke enough English to explain maps of Prague and schedules for when the castle was open, etc to me - or where to get food around the place... There are a couple really good (and cheap! ) little restaurants around the hotel within walking distance, like 2-5 minutes... ask for czech restaurants, they are small, smoky, hole in the wall places, but those always seem to have the best food ;) There are also pizza places that my friends said were very good, among other types of food - asian and whatnot. If you want a place to stay that's really nice or a bit fancy, I wouldn't stay here - it does the job, and it's safe, clean, etc... but it is by no means anywhere near extravagant or fancy haha.
I would reccommend it, we definitely had no problems whatsoever. I would imagine it would get more expensive as you get closer to the city. BUT if uyou don't want to stay here, here is a website that lets you search every youth hostel in Europe:http://www.hostels.com/en/index.htmlYou can search in Prague and compare prices... it is very common for travelers to stay in hostels, as well as hotels, as they are typically cheaper.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
