Can you, without quoting or referencing the Bible give me solid arguments as to the existence of God?

Yes I can, but it’s from observation, not from scriptural memory that I suggest that you—on a cloudless night, and in the country—raise your eyes high up and see.

There are galaxies, and there are clusters of galaxies. Let’s take it a step further, each cluster contains billions of stars, and there are billions of clusters of galaxies. Who has created these things?

Who can bring them together for us to view even by number, and of the billions give each one a name?

It takes not only vigorous power, but also dynamic energy to bring them all together so that not one of them is missing. Existence of God is clearly seen—while you’re looking at the night sky—to admit whomever we rely on for wisdom does not tire out or grow weary.

The odds against that happening is huge. So if human engineers get offended if not given credit for creating buildings, machines and even technology, how much more so a grand creator feeling badly for not getting any credit? Everything, buildings, and the like have a creator.

But you can believe as you wish, that is the beauty of free will.

The question of course has nothing to do with religion, which is as you said man made. The proof that God exists really is determined by your definition of God. God to me, refers more to the energy or life force within everything.

That energy whatever it is has to have a source. That source to me is a higher power, superior intellect or perhaps what people refer to as God. I just see the complexity of life and know that there has to be some sort of beginning or creator.

That is pure logic. Perhaps our creators are another race of aliens, perhaps we are a virus in relative terms. Whatever we are we can't have just existed.

There must logically be a beginning and that is what I could refer to as God. We are indeed proof that there is a God, in that context.

Look into your newborn childs eyes. That's where I saw the proof.

Imagine you are walking through a desert. You are running low on food and water. There is no evidence of anyone nearby, and it looks as though you might be the first person to ever visit this place.

You see something in the distance, and as you get closer you see that it is a well-built house. Going inside, you find that it is completely stocked with all types of gourmet food and drink. Your hunger is satisfied, your thirst slaked.At this point, I suppose you think, "I wonder what sort of fantastically unlikely set of circumstances caused all of these things to fall right into place so that this house could evolve here, so perfectly suited to my needs?

" Probably not. Simple logic and experience dictate that someone built this house.

Now imagine that you came upon this same house, after a malicious and selfish vandal had eaten all the food, smashed all the windows and turned the place into a filthy mess. That disarray doesn't erase the logic of an original builder, does it?

By the way, not to quote the Bible or use it as a basis for the argument, but this very point was made some 2000 years ago. You can find it written in the letter that the apostle Paul wrote to the Christians living in Jerusalem - Hebrews Chapter 3, Verse 4, a portion of the Bible that seems totally relevant, to your question at least.

God is very real! If you are a douting Thomas, and have to see to believe; then, look up our Lady of Guadalupe. Mary appeard to Juan Diego and her picture appeared on his cloak.

The cloak is still here, which is a miricle! It's the only picture we have a Mary, and it's how we know what she looks like. It's also a miracle John Paul lived when he got shot.

When he looked up the second before the bullet when into him, he saw the picture of Mary up on a wall smile at him. She knew he was going to be shot, so saved him! Believe in God!

Of course. While the actual proof is much more complicated than this, the jist of it is as follows: the first premise is that all things have a cause. You have a cause, for example, they were your parents.

Each of them had a cause, their parents. The Earth had a cause, to coellesing of material created during the formation of our Sun. And so it goes.

This track goes backwards, not necissarity in time, just backwards from one cause to another. At some point you get to the one cause. What caused the one cause?

Itself is the answer Benedict Spinoza proposes in his geometric proof of the existance of god. Of course, in the making of that point is where things get really complicated.

Now having gotten to this point, I haven't really defined what god I am talking about. It clearly isn't the one described in the bible or the one believed in by the monotheists. One reason is, by definition, all things, material and immaterial, e.g. Thoughts, soul, etc, are extensions of this god.

The God of the bible is purposefully made distinct from .. they aren't the same.

The second premise is that to be a god, it must be infinite. Again, by definition, this god I have developed is a true god in that it is infinite in all possible respects. There can't be another, otherwise there must be something else that caused those and that would be god.

The God of the bible clearly fails this infinity test because He even admits there are other gods, He simply wants believers to ignore the others and just worship .

Now, in more modern terms, this One Cause or First Cause, as other philosophers have dubbed it, to me is the Big Bang. That for all intent and purposes is the First Cause and EVERYthing that is, flowed from the instant that ... whatever it was, blew up and began expanding.

You betcha'! As soon as you and some other living creature come within sight of each other, you can feel that force. But is it something up there that is playing chess with my life?

One cannot prove or disprove the existence of God! It is scientifically impossible to do either one! You cannot do the "deductive method" on something that is not of this world!

Therefore, proving existence for something not in the realm of our world is impossible!

I know God exists. However, I feel he doesn't want us to see facts to his existence. Why?

Because he wants people to chose by freewill. It's not freewill if you have facts in front of you! Then you know he exists and you will chose him automatically!

I think proof of God is personal! I have many instances where I know God exists--but they are personal!

Science has found its limits; the big bang is coming unraveled and the most brilliant skeptic won't humor you an explanation for what caused the incipient event but will instead divert attention to perceived shortcomings of creationism. In view of this fact, our conscience and mostly universal idea of right and wrong, and our deep-seated instinct of turning to God in times of turmoil -- along with scriptures that guide the beliefs of major, abrahamic religions that have a lot of common beliefs, one should be able to conculde that God created us.

There is not a solid answer to that question.

No one can prove god exists on does exist. I myself don't believe in god either my reason.

1. The bible has been re-written there is no proof that it was written in gods words.

In order to refute the belief of God, many point to something else they believe in. This cycle repeats itself no matter what you are pointing at, even if it is believing in nothing (since you have to believe that you believe in nothing to actually believe in nothing. Do you get it?).

That road goes both ways, kids. Christians are not validated in telling other people that their gods don't exist any more than you are in telling Christians that their god doesn't exist.

I find your irreverence and mockery of others beliefs, in an attempt to validate your derision of them, completely appalling. You should be ashamed of yourself for asking proof from people who are as ready to give it in their terms as you are willing to accept it in yours.

If you want to believe, no one can make you. If you don't want to believe, no one can change your mind. Why do people persist in persecuting these particular people who are way better at feeling persecuted that it is in our ability to persecute them?

Sometimes the question of whether or not god exists can only be answered by personal reflection and deep thought. A good question to ask yourself is do you want to believe he exists or not? If you do, that is the only answer you need.

For me personally on August 1,1982 A.D. a Sunday morning GOD in a vision shown me the other side of death. I know exactly what to expect when I cross over to the other side of death for human beings. It is glorious.

Now for all of you naysayers to my testimony of the other side of death, go ahead and knock yourself out calling me a liar and anything else that you can think of to say about me. That will not change the truth of what I have just said to you. Now for the others who are not sure about what awaits for you when you die then I say to you to take comfort in this that it is more real than the life that we are living now on the earth.No need to be concern with what happens after death because you will be the same person as the moment before you died and crossed over to the other side of death.

You can see The Lord's handiwork in everything around you. He made everything, people, animals, birds, fish, plants, and all the stars in interstellar space, the galaxies, the universe, the air we breathe, water, soil, gravity, our souls, etc. The list is very long.

Start studying science and look around yourself. Look at all the bacteria and all the atoms which make up everything. If you dig deep enough you'll soon understand that it is impossible for this to come into being without a greater power, or a creator.

If you don't want to believe that the Bible is written through men by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit which is God than thats your problem. An ant can be crawling on earth and not realize that there is a moon but that doesn't mean the moon doesn't exist. ;).

Not possible. No one can prove the existence of God, nor can anyone prove He doesn't exist. God exists because most people believe in God.

The Bible itself points out that Faith alone proves the existence of God, not the words written there.

I'll point out one fact, miracles happen. Dead people have returned to life. Terminally ill people have suddenly been cured, not by medicine, but by faith.

You can call it science or coincidence, or you can believe in God. But know this, when all hell breaks loose in a person's life, even atheists have prayed to God for help. So even people who claim that God is a myth, still pray to God when needed.

Certainly not me. And all those things you said are just that, nature. Just because scientists haven't made us live for hundreds of years it does not mean that there is a god.

I am not mocking anybody. In my experience(and I am not alone in this) with debating and in a lot of the forums on hubpages, the only arguments for their side that Christians can come up with is just usually quotes from the bible. The whole point of not being a Christian is that you don't believe in the bible, therefore quotes are meaningless.

I do not believe the bible to the word of 'God' and therefore I do not accept quoting from it as evidence of God's existence.

I also do not consider asking questions to be mocking or attacking anybodies beliefs and of you see it that way then it is only making you seem closed minded or ignorant.

I'm an atheist and the reason for "becoming" an atheist was self-education and logic... so the question is not relevant to me.

But... if you want to define "God" as everything all at once and all the time, i.e. All that exists being a metaphor for "God" then our self awareness of reality would constitute a proof. But "God" would not be a person, being, nor entity that has reasoning or thinking or ability to exercise any kind of self-motivated action of any kind.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
