It sounds like a pretty close case. I think that so many songs today contain little pieces of one another. There is so little originality anymore. It does seem Coldplay took pieces of Stevens song but Joe Satriani did first though.
Satriani's is closer but both are kinda disturbing. I was a Satriani fan, and when I first heard Viva la Vida, it bugged me pretty bad. Then, my hubby got me some Cat Stevens because I was going through a folky period.
Some may argue that it's just chord progression, but I feel like the melody here is definitely being copied. Perhaps someone has some kind of audio photographic memory and can't remember that there was already a URL2 may not be something malicious. Remember, Cat already found someone "borrowing" Father and Son and got an award out of it.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
