Causes of cat urine smell in sweat and excessive sweating, sometimes strong ammonia smell also?

Causes of cat urine smell in sweat and excessive sweating, sometimes strong ammonia smell also. I eat plenty of carbs, I hope enough water, and medium amts of meat for protein. I am on depression drugs from the VA hospital, they say the drugs don't have any effect?

Anything especially medications have effects on the smell of our bodily wastes. It's normal especially you are taking anti-depressants. I eat a lot but that doesn't really make my body smell bad.

I think it's normal for you because I also notice sometimes when I take in antibiotics, my urine would smell bad. And in your case, maybe it's just temporary and hope it will stop after you are done with your medications. If not, you can always go back to your physician to consult about it.

2 Now MarshallO, I think what was meant was the *smell* of cat urine, not actual cat urine! Rucksack1, I don't know of any medication that will make your sweat smell like urine, but there are definitely antidepressants that can make you sweat excessively. Cymbalta can do it, for one.

Would you mind telling us what particular drugs you are taking? I know that use of certain substances, like alcohol or cigarettes, can come out in sweat, giving it a particular odor, so it is possible that something you are ingesting is causing the the peculiar odor. Katherine .

3 I know Wellbutrin for one can make one sweat more. It's in the PI sheet. I had the exact same thing happen when taking Topamax and Wellbutrin.

Talk about fun times at the sweatshop factory I worked at. As for the smell...Try drinking more water, eating a touch more carbs, and asking for a kidney/liver/cbc blood panel to be done at your next apt. Also try changing soaps to a non-deodorizing soap and to an all natural soap and see if that helps some.

I also break out in a very itchy/blothcy, "rash". This can be on any part of the body....it is NOT only in the "pits" and other normal mosist sweat areas. Right now, on my leg.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
