Your unweighted GPA is what matters, not weighted. A 28-30 ACT score would put you in the middle of UCLA and in the lowest 25% for Stanford (usually reserved for recruited athletes, etc). UCLA would be a good reach school (with the lower-ranking UCs and some CSUs as matches/safeties, since you're in-state), but Stanford's probably going to be out of your reach unless you get a 32+ ACT score.
You may consider taking the SAT instead, just to see if that works any better for you.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
