Che senso ha sparare I botti a capodanno?

Nell'antichità vi era la credenza che I rumori forti allontanavano il male, probabilmente ancora oggi I botti di capodanno sono un retaggio di questa credenza. Io personalmente li trovo pericolosi e sono abbastanza contraria.
