The ones you bake, not 'no-bake'. My 4 year old just asked me to make him chocolate cookies (not chocolate chip cookies), the only recipe I have is the 'no-bake' one and he would like an actual cookie that you bake. I could search the web, but I would prefer recipes that you have actually baked and know are yummy.

This one is to die for. There are never any left after 2 days in my house. This recipe is from Better Homes and Gardens Homemade Cookies book. It's one that I picked up at the cash register in the grocery store.
Ultimate Chocolate Cookies 1 12 ounce package (2 cups) semisweet chocolate pieces 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate 2 tablespoons butter 1/4 cup all-purpose flour 1/4 teaspoon baking powder Dash salt 2 eggs 2/3 cup granulated sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 cup chopped nuts 4 ounces semisweet chocolate, melted Lightly grease a cookie sheet; set aside. Melt 1 cup of the semisweet chocolate pieces, the unsweetened chocolate, and butter in a heavy medium saucepan, stirring constantly. Transfer to large mixing bowl; cool slightly.
Meanwhile, stir together flour, baking powder and salt; set aside. Add eggs, sugar and vanilla to chocolate mixture. Using a wooden spoon, beat until combined.
Stir in the flour mixture, remaining chocolate pieces, and nuts. Drop dough by heaping teaspoons 2 inches apart onto the prepared cookie sheet. Bake in a 350 oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until the edges are firm and surface is dull and cracked.
Cool on cookie sheet for 1 minute. Transfer to a wire rack; cool completely. Drizzle cooled cookies with melted semisweet chocolate.
I usually make these without the nuts coz my kids prefer 'em that way. Sources: Better Homes and Gardens Homemade Cookies- cookbook .
Chocolate Crackles Chocolate Crackles (Makes 48 cookies) 3 eggs 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted 1/2 cup vegetable oil 2 teaspoons baking powder 2 teaspoons vanilla 2 cups all-purpose flour sifted confectioners' sugar In a large mixing bowl, using an electric mixer, beat eggs, sugar, chocolate, oil, baking powder, and vanilla until blended. Beat in as much of the flour with the mixer as possible, then stir in the remaining flour. Cover and chill the cookie dough for 2 hours.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Roll in sifted confectioners' sugar, coating well. Place balls of cookie dough about 1 inch apart on un-greased cookie sheets and bake in a 375° oven for 8 to 10 minutes, until crackled in appearance.
Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool. You could sprinkle with additional powdered sugar, but I don’t. I like the crackle look that they have without the additional sugar.
Anyway, these are tasty and EASY to make. Kids like to help by rolling them into balls or at least rolling the balls into the powder sugar. Chewy Chocolate Cookies I imagine you've already made your chocolate cookies, but there were still open answer slots and under the belief that one can never have too many chocolate cookie recipes, here's a really outstanding recipe I got from my Grandmother. Ingredients: 1 1/4 cups butter, softened 2 cups sugar 2 eggs 2 teaspoons vanilla 2 cups unsifted all-purpose flour 3/4 cup cocoa 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 cup finely chopped nuts (optional, and I always omit) chocolate chips (optional, but I always use :) Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter and sugar in large mixing bowl.
Add eggs and vanilla, blend well. In a medium bowl, combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt. Stir into creamed mixture.
Stir in nuts (if desired). Drop by teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. Add 2 or 3 chocolate chips into each cookie (optional).
Bake at 350 for 8 to 9 minutes. Do not overbake. They will puff during baking and flatten upon cooling.
Cool on cookie sheet until set, 1 to 2 minutes. Remove to wire rack to cook completely. Makes approx.4 dozen cookies.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
