There is no scripture verse that says thou shalt not gamble or thou shalt not buy a lottery ticket some try to use the verse you must work or you shall not eat if that were true then all retirees and disabled are sinning by getting pensions and retirement benefits. They get paid back more money than they ever put in so they would be receiving money they never worked for. Others use the example of the soldiers gambling for the robe of jesus at his crucifixion yet people are not killing some one and taking their clothes and casting lots for them god says in the old testament KJV: Proverbs 16:33.
The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof is of the LORD. I believe it is as paul said of eating meats sacrificed to idols for some there is nothing wrong with it for others it is a sin I will not how ever use my freedom in front of a weak brother to cause him to do some thing he considers to be a sin.
No. I have never read anything that would lead me to that conclusion. The only thing that I can think of that would be bad is compulsive gambling, but then again, too much of ANYTHING is bad.
For those who believe that gambling is a sin, what about the stock market? That's as much of a gamble as putting money in a slot machine these days. And you're still trying to get a lot of something for next to nothing.
Isn't it the same? Yet the same people who think that gambling is a sin have their entire retirement funds in the stock market. Explain, please...
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
