That quote comes from the Jehovah's Witness 'Insight' book. They have some strange ideas about sin, such as anyone who dies has been acquitted from his sin (Romans 6:7 New World Translation). They completely ignore the fact that Romans chapter 6 is speaking about spiritual death and not physical death.
To answer your question, I can only suggest that any religious denomination that fails to grasp the enormity of sin and reckons that their physical death "acquits" them of their own personal sin needs to stop reading the 'Insight' book and start reading the Bible alone. Romans chapter 8 would be a good place to start. P.S. I've elected to use the Anonymous option because of all the nasty comments that are being made.
Why do some people become so defensive and judgmental, making all sorts of assumptions about people? Oh, and go off-topic, trying to change the subject? P.P.S. And I am not the asker of this question!
True believers do not exercise habitual sin -- with the idea of intentional, repetitive disobedience. (Galatians 2:20) I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.
And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. (Matthew 5:48) God requires that we reflect His character: 'Be perfect, therefore, as your Heavenly Father is perfect. We know that we can never attain this, but we can strive for it.
(1 John 1:8) "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." Here, the apostle says that Christians who claim to be "sin free" are deceiving themselves and he calls into question their very salvation for making such a claim; and in the following text we are exhorted to confess our sins continually so that we may be clothed with the Lord's righteousness. (1 John 1:9) So, Christians cannot sin whenever they want to, they don't have a free ride... (Romans 6:1-2) What shall we say then?
Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it...? Therefore, we are not natural "sinners" anymore, we have been made righteous in Christ!
God sees Jesus’ righteousness as being our own righteousness. Or would you rather call yourself: 'a Saved Sinner?' What does the Word say...? Shall the righteous (or the sinners) live by faith...? (Hebrews 10:38) Blessings are on the heads of the sinners? May it never be... (Proverbs 10:6).
Blessings are on the head of the righteous, But the mouth of the wicked conceals violence. EDIT (1) For Christians who hide behind an "anon" avatar...This is what you need to hear: 'When you look in the mirror and the disguise is stripped away, I hope that you will feel comfortable with who stares back.' EDIT (2) When the questioner cannot answer my questions and invite her friends to encourage HER interpretation of God's Word, rather than admitting that she's wrong, then there's not much I can say, I just find it very sad.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
