Of course they do.....just read the posts. But words do have meaning, and all posters do recognize that it is the definition of terms that separate JW's; LDS; Christendom; UPC; Christian Science, early SDA, etc. To hijack the vernacular of scripture, and give it different meanings to who God is, Who Jesus is, Who Holy Spirit is, .........well, a most dangerous thing. I am deeply concerned what Jesus said, and what He considers "belief" that constitutes acceptance and brings about the changed heart.
John 8-10 is the controversial chapters, and John 1:1 the most controversial verse. The Jews did not want to accept Jesus as Messiah, and moreover the Pharisees wanted to stone him for his statements that He was indeed Jehovah God. This is what is at issue, accepting God on His terms.
If speaking about the organization, then I believe the WTBTS teaches a false Jesus and a false Gospel If speaking about the individual Jehovah Witness, and their personal relationship to God, I cannot know their heart, only God can. I have talked to many JW's, and LDS , and more than a few have said they don't believe in all their church teaches. A great many Catholics tell me they don't buy into all the traditions.
Just Jesus as their Savior. What am I to think at that point? I have to leave their choices of heart in Gods hands.
The apostles knew the Old Testament well. They purposely used the titles and descriptions of the LORD God in the Law and Prophets for Jesus Christ in the New Testament. They were not blaspheming or confused, They were making a point that God himself took on a human body to live visibly on the earth and to redeem mankind.
John put it this way: "the Word was God.... the Word became flesh and lived among us" (John 1:1,14). In this sense, JWs do not believe that he is Lord.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
