You can install linux/ubuntu and then install skype, but you will need some scripting/codeing skills here's a good tutorial.

Yes, I've installed Skype and some other stuff on my Chromebook using Crouton. For my writeup see http://davidherron.com/node/7665 It'll only work on an Intel based Chromebook (I have an Acer C720). Works fine, though the Skype is a bit old.

However you do have to switch back and forth between ChromeOS and Ubuntu to use Skype.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
