(Sorry if I can come up with a better reason than "It's Stan 'the Man' Lee! Marvel's number one living figurehead. ") And, if I maybe permitted: If you knew then what you know now, would you stick your original name (Stanley Lieber) on that third issue of Captain America Comic's back in 1941 and own your work to your name, OR would you stick to the now iconic and celebrity-sounding "Stan Lee"?
(originally, he put a new name on the credit for the comic's in the event that he would write a book, afraid being connected to a 'funny paper' might damage his carrier as a 'serious' writer.) Oh, and one more... Now that you are a free agent, have you ever considered instating a prize commission bearing your name? I ask because you are often viewed as the world's biggest 'fan boy' and it would seem you would perhaps successfully manage a 'viewers opinion' version of the Eisner Award, which was originally your old partner's award- Jack Kirby. (um... the question explains itself?
Heh).
What question that you wish someone would ask you , so you could answer it. But no one never ever bothered to ask?
The reason for this question is that Jack Kirby was such a great influence on the comic books of the 1960's.
First of all, congratulations, Mr. Poupard. There were times in my younger years when Stan Lee was more important to me than the president. I certainly thought he was cooler and probably respected him more.
I've had the opportunity to shake his hand one time(I've always sought handshakes rather than autographs)but never had a chance to chat with the man. I guess I'd ask Stan Lee what I ask a lot of people. How does God fit into his life.In a religious sense I believe he's a non-practicing Jew, but I'd like to hear if and how spirituality manifests in his life.
I'd like to know if and how he connects with God on a day to day basis and how that aspect of his life has changed now that he's in his twilight years. If you think about it he and Jack practically created a religion unto itself. He drew upon so many myths and religious traditions to sculpt the Marvel Universe and helped several generations of young people define their own moral compasses.
Shoot, he even referred to us as "True Believers" in those 80s cartoons. I think it'd be fascinating to find out where he sees himself in the grander scheme of reality.
Since Marvel comics tend to be less intense than DC comics, I would have to ask what kind of comic book Stan Lee would make if he made them for DC. What kind of superhero would he create and what kind of enemies would this hero face? If this comic was made into a movie, what actor would play the main character?
What would the basic information of the comic be and just how intense could Stan Lee make a comic book series.
I would ask Stan Lee,what powers he wished he had and why . S interest in the unique comes from where?
Now, the question itself may sound silly. But with the amount of comics and superheroes and wildly creative ideas that this man just draws up, there has to be SOMETHING that distinguishes his wild imaginations and brings it out so amazingly that everyone just wants a piece of it. Now he also could just be really good at what he does.
But the underlying answer to this seemingly silly question draws out the truth: what was or is his inspiration for creating these comics? The question listed presents both a light-heartedness that I'm sure Stan Lee will love (hopefully), but will also dig down deep into what drives him and what inspires him and in a sense what makes Stan Lee's work unique (obviously they're amazing, but we can dig deeper than that! ).
My reasoning: Both these videos youtube.com/watch?v=CLqsdPUfnno.
If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question. Question: Do you or have you ever believed that super powers are real?
If so, do you have any?
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
