Result of gun control = One other gun at Virginia Tech would have stopped a massacre, but guns controlled there!
Yep- some guy from the street was whistling at my daughter last night when she turned on the light to her room. I’m thinking about buying ammunition.
Nobody's going to do anything about it. For some reason Americans only seem to have bigger and more powerful weapons. Hmmm I didn't say that, so you can think where you got THAT thought into your head...
I don't think it is accurate to judge him as being unstable. I serve/served with him, and until this he has always been a good person, a good soldier, and a great comrade. Why he snapped, only he and probably she knows.
This isn't an issue of Gun Control, this is police Negligence as she reported that he was harrassing her FRIDAY NIGHT, and the police FAILED TO ACT. This isn't a matter of Gun Control, but Police Negligence.
It has nothing to do with gun control. The police probably couldn't have stopped either.
Ah, hello...the man is a 2nd Lieutenant in the Wyoming National Guard. He is not "unstable" by definition, but perhaps he is a murderer. Why do people always assume that because one person kills another that they are "unstable?"
Murder can be a "rational act. " Is a person that kills another in the defense of another or of one's self "unstable? " Is it irrational to wish to survive at all costs?
If, as it seems likely, this man killed his estranged wife, then do we know all of the reasons why? There are two sides to every story, no matter what the media says. Perhaps she cheated on him, or she made scurrilous and false allegations against him?
Who really knows? I find it humorous that society just picks up whatever the media drops on us as Gospel. We do not know, and may never know the whole story concerning this murder.
There are, in those extremely and very rare instances, that murder is a logical (though oft misread) progression of past events. Does it stand beyond reason that a spouse kills the other spouse if they are unfaithful? Please, understand, I am not advocating it, just saying that it is not beyond the realm of reason, nothing more.To my detractors, I say, yes, there are many other ways to deal with a cheating spouse, or some other emotionally damaging situation, but killing someone is not necessarily crazy or sick.
I mean, look at OJ Simpson. He got away with the criminal aspect of murder, but he did not entirely escape the consequences of his crime. Further, like Chris Rock once said, Ron Goldman was seen driving Mrs. Simpson's new Ferrari, the week before they both wound up dead.
The car was a gift from OJ. Now, I am not, repeat not saying that OJ should have killed them, but I understand why. What was he thinking, giving a very jealous man, a man that had actively demonstrated a predeliction for violence toward her any more cause or reason to do anything more?
I read once a woman put her arm in a tiger's cage at the zoo. Despite the fact there were signs all over, and she read them, she still put her arm in to "pet" the tiger. The tiger, being a tiger, did what it is suposed to do, it bit her arm off, right at the hinge.
It then ate it. The woman survived, only to try and sue the zoo for damages and the loss of her arm. Was this stupidity the zoo's fault?
I do not think so, do you? Some people are just plain idiotic an do stupid stuff. When somone or something makes them pay a price for their stupidity or their arrogance, we can all say, what a shame, what a tragedy!
But the one thing we cannot do, and should never do, is put all the blame, all the time, on the tiger. Despite what I have written her, I do not condone murder as punishment for any slight, real or imagined. I just understand that there is much more to it than simply black or white, right or wrong.
Sometimes, there is a whole lot of gray and our society, especially the media, has a way of getting us to see only one shade; the one that will sell.
Guns don't kill people.....People kill People. I guess as a trained Soldier he wouldn't have had the ability to kill her with a knife after the bar closed. Wait I guess we should ban knives and just eat finger food.
Ghest crime rates in the USA are in the states with the toughest gun laws. You do the math!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
