Dumb, not being able to speak. There are a lot of ways to communicate your thoughts, including writing and speaking. Plus, you don't miss out anything by being dumb.
You can still hear and see the beauty of the world. Besides, sometimes our slipped tongues can get us too many troubles. Maybe by being dumb I can think of what I will communicate to other people before it slips pass my tongue.
I would surly choose to be dumb. If I were deaf or blind, these may be conditions that are not reversible and I would have to spend the rest of my life without seeing or hearing anything else. Ever!
But, if I choose to be a dumb person, I can study hard and eventually I will become smart or at least, smarter - whether I know how to use my new found intelligence or not.
I would choose to be dumb, as you said in the literal sense, not being able to speak. I tend to be very talkative. I know a lot of people get irritated by that, so being dumb may bring some happiness to many people. As much as I love to talk, my vision and hearing are too valuable to me.
They provide so much richness to my life that I would gladly give up my ability to speak to preserve them.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
