Derek Jeter at 3000 hits: Your thoughts?

Outstanding achievement for and outstanding player and person. You neglected to say"he was the first Yankee to have 3000 hits. "That in itself is remarkable.

Ditto AP . It is hard to believe with all the Yankees greats that he is the first one to have 3000 hits . Being a Yankee fan from birth ( got that from my Father ) I couldn't be happier .

Congrats to Derek! I'm a huge Yankees fan so I think it's impressive. Jeter is an amazing player - and one that does NOT use enhancing drugs.

He is just quite talented. I can't wait to watch him and hope he plays for many more years (as a Yankee).

As much as I like baseball when does congress step in with DRUG USE as he is a good power hitter. As I think Congress goes to far with this drug use power. Yes our TAX dollars at work.

I've followed his carrer fro 20 + years and he is just awesome. Great athlete and a great person. Jeter is why people love baseball.

Derek Jeter is the quintessential baseball player. Jeter finally reached 3000 hits in dramatic fashion as hit number 3000 found its way over the left field fence in the bottom of the third inning this past Saturday. Interestingly enough, Jeter was able to do it at home against a division rival and probably one of the best pitchers in baseball in David Price.

Joining the 3000 hit club is one accomplishment, but Jeter has many things to be proud of in his career. Yes he has won many championships, gold gloves, and other individual awards, but the fact that you can’t really say anything bad about a man whose personal life has been under the microscope for as long as his has in the Mecca of media says a lot about Jeter. Interestingly enough Jeter is a well groomed, nice looking, man (no homo), and the women love him.

Yet there have never been any scandals to report and no slander thrown the man’s way. His biggest criticisms have always come from productivity on the field.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
