There was plenty of rudeness to be had for sure that surprised even me and I am from the NYC area. That said, there were also some very nice people too- it really is hit or miss. The rudeness didn't leave me with the fondest vacation memories- that was probably my biggest gripe but other than that it was a lot of fun.
I strongly suggest that you stay at the Comfort Suites, PI. It is far less $$$ than the Atlantis (about half) and unless you are staying at the Cove Atlantis, the rooms can be just as nice (basic) and in some cases, closer to the beach! You also get free breakfast- not so at the Atlantis unless you have a special deal.
The best part is it is right across the street <5 minute walk and you get to use nearly all the Atlantis facilities. It is by far the best deal going! I think it might even be owned by the Atlantis because the people who brought over the buffet food were wearing Atlantis staff uniforms.
Be sure to do all the excursions and you will have a lot of fun.
Have been there the last 4yrs. Liked it enough to buy a time share there two yrs ago. It is expensive, but they have to import their supplies.
We have eaten at several places on both Paradise Island and New Providence Island and have never had a bad meal. There was only one server (who worked at the Twin Brothers) who was rude, inefficient and didn't appear to care. We were sitting on the porch with two other couples (who were not associated with each other) and waited 20min.
For a drink order and another 20 min for it to arrive. He dropped the drinks, said he would be back in a minute. We watched a table of six come in while we were waiting for our drinks, order, receive their food, were finished and the waiter still hadn't taken our order.
We all left, as we began complaining together which broke the ice. We all went to the Poop Deck, by the bridges and had a great meal. That was the only time we had anyone who was not a great staff member to deal with.
That includes the Atlantis where we eat quite often. Bahamians are great people.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
