That is a terrible correlation! I believe the that explanation that promotes atheism and convinces people, more so, that there is no God. Going back as far as the time of Descartes, the advent of the clock brought humanity closer to understanding the phenomena of time, which was believed to be out of our control and became mechanized.
Time which was once measured in long spans of duration became shortened and incremental. When the pocket watch was made available to public, "time" less powerful in it's hold on us, as it now can be regularly tracked and fit into the palm of the hand. Centuries ago, scientists, philosophers, and mathematicians began to notice in discovering the material make up of our universe that it operates much like the inner workings of a clock.
The gears and clockwork of the pocket watch allowed masses of people to accept this, consciously or unconsciously. Looking for faster, efficient and more convenient ways to conserve time and increase production brought about the industrial age, to the nuclear age, resulting in the digital age. Society has been turn to a more secular and superficial and existence has been convincingly explained in more material terms.
People seem to be increasingly concluding that existence is a depressing hollowed out, empty shell of an existence with no purpose or meaning. This comes from shallow ambitions and accepting the material world as all there is to existence. The linear approach of sequential observation emphasizes appearances of the tangible world of form and content, which is a limited paradigm, that excludes the nonlinear paradigm of formless meaning and significance, represented as essence and context.
The linear is always a result of the nonlinear. The formlessness of the sky allows the clouds to take shape. And it is against the ever-present background of silence and stillness that sound and motion can be detected.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
