Jamie Foxx won the Oscar because he gave a great performance. I think we've gotten past the era where it was major news that a black actor or actress won an Oscar. What you refer to as "white-guilt Oscar" no longer exists.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
