Did Obama break The War Powers Resolution of 1973 by attacking Libya?

It is certainly possible, although I believe it will be a Clinton repeat, the impeachment could make it through the house but doubtful to get the support it need from the Senate. Lets look at the resolution: The War Powers Resolution of 1973 (50 U.S.C. 1541–1548 ) The United States Congress joint resolution providing that the President can send U.S. armed forces into action abroad ONLY BY AUTHORIZATION OF CONGRESS OR IF THE US IS ALREADY UNDER ATTACK OR SERIOUS THREAT. The War Powers Resolution requires the president to notify Congress within 48 hours of committing armed forces to military action and forbids armed forces from remaining for more than 60 days, with a further 30 day withdrawal period, without an authorization of the use of military force or a declaration of war.

The resolution was passed by two-thirds of Congress, overriding a presidential veto. To quote the phraseology of the “ONE”, lets be clear about this, the Congress has to authorize action or the US has to be under attack or serious threat. None of these conditions has been met.

Obama acted on the direction of his United Nations, not congress. I believe Obama could have a problem here, not to mention even his Democratic friend in congress are not happy he went over their heads.

Maybe you can actually answer your own question lol.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
