Unfortunately the facts in your headline are correct. What President Bush did wrong was to not drag up the huevos to veto out of control spending by the mostly Democrat congress during his two terms. This outrageous reversal of the country's financial position can also be blamed on new additional spending required by the 9/11 tragedy.
You may recall the Federal government poured a lot of money into Homeland Security and into individual states to devise defenses against attacks. Also recall that even detractors of President Bush, unless they are entirely brain-dead, credit him and his administration with nearly seven years of preventing further attacks. I can't resist a side comment that the budget surplus we enjoyed at the end of the Clinton presidency was not the result of our friend Billy Bob, rather the Republican Congress under the leadership of Speaker Gingrich and the "contract with America." Added: Should have thought before I spoke.
Jacob W is absolutely correct, the ending deficit is grossly overstated because of TARP and even more additional spending added to President Bush's final fiscal year because of additional Obama administration spending.
Did bush have 9 hurricanes ,4 major floods, 20 million acres of wildfires,a tsunami,9/11 and 2 wars and it was the republicans that helped clinton do this ,you better check it out he moved toward center so he would have repub. Support I bet your like 22 you have no clue, and you bi tch about that and that was 8 yrs barack and these dems have tripled that in a year and a half neither one is good but when you criticize bush for what took him 8yrs ,barack has passed those numbers in a 1/8 of the time well at least that's what your CBO says.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
