Steve O is dead wrong The Japanese were preparing for the Allied invasion of their homw islands, and were even training civilians and children to resist to the death. Best estimates are that the use of those bombs prevented a combined death total of 1 to 4 million Allied soldiers and Japanese had their home islands been invaded.. Even the Japanese agree with that number.
