Except for how extremely difficult is getting that help to the ones actually in trouble That would be without the detour to some functionary's slush fund or "nuclear research" program. I'm cynical exactly because this is not Pakistan's first flood. The country sits on a very fertile alluvial plain and instead of spending that wealth on protecting its citizens, the country's government militarizes everything.

I have absolutely no confidence that Pakistan, even with the UN involved, is even remotely trustworthy do take the money and do anything constructive. I would rather send $10 (or more) to some place where I have some inkling of a belief that the money will actually do some good.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
