I had the same question 5 years ago. I'm laughing in my head now at the people who tried explaining the difference between CS, CE, and EE. That's really a big question and there are many career paths for each major.
It also depends on the courses the university offers. This is important. The biggest distinction I can make with Computer Engineering coursework vs Electrical Engineering coursework is CE's have more programming experience (I took 3 courses) with the options to take more advanced courses.
It may or may not be with the Computer Science department. But it's a misconception that CE is in between CS and EE. Each is its own entity.
CE may share EE courses, but there are unique CE courses like in the Computer Architecture field. Hardware Design is probably available for both majors at most universities, but it still falls under Computer Engineering. --->Whatever major you declare, CE or EE, you will most likely have the same course options.
Check each university's rubric! This will clarify things. <--- I'm going to point you here and make a few highlights.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_en... - Coding, Cryptography, and Information Protection Possible for a CE, but usually for a Math major It has a huge role in Computer Network/Mobile Network Security - Communications and Wireless Networks Everyone at my school basically focuses in Communications because that's what the university specializes in. This is my focus as a M.S. student - Computer Networks and Mobile Networks This is my area of interest as an M.S. student even though I am a communications major. Network Management and Network Security fall under this area.
A friend of mine is in Mobile Network field. A lot of R&D. It's always changing/evolving.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
