Do any other women get menstral migraines around their ovulation instead of around their period?

Migraines run in my family and I've always had several migraines each year. They've never corresponded to my periods, but the last several months I've gotten them right when I ovulate. Is there something I can do to prevent them? I used to I used to get them too. Basically my gyno gave me a bottle of what were basically birth control pills (loose) and said to put one under my tongue when I got a monthly migraine. If they worked, it was a hormonal imbalance; if they didn't, it was something else.

They worked for a while, and then the migraines went away. If you are on the pill, you may be able to get a different formula; if not, maybe you can try what I did.

Birth Control Pills I have the same issue with getting migraines with hormone fluctuations. My doctor recommended I go on birth control pills to help. I was married with 2 kids and my husband is 'fixed', so I hadn't thought about BCPs.

They work very well for me. Periodically (every couple years) she changes my prescription to adjust for my body changing as I get older. I definitely do get the headaches back when I go off.

Talk to your doctor and see if this might work for you. It takes about 2 or 3 cycles for the effect to kick in, so don't give up if you don't see improvement the first month. Good luck.

I get menstraul migraines myself... I get menstraul migraines myself, and have had to start to take the birth control pill on a constant basis in order to try and stop my migraines. I take it for three or four months straight, then take a week off, then go back on it. My ob/gyn has told me that this is perfectly fine for my body, as well as my family doctor.

I have tried Topamax, and it helped to keep me from having them but it increases the likelyhood of kidney stones so the neurologist took me off of it. I have a history of kidney stones, and it's not suggested for me because of that. I have also been on another medicine similar to Topamax, and had to stop it for the same reason, but if you haven't ever had a kidney stone it is something you might want to discuss with your doctor.

Another thing that helps with mine is to put an ice pack on the back of my neck and keep it there. I don't know why, but it helps. My migraines are actually the week before my period, the week of my period, and the week after my period if I am not taking something to keep them at bay.

They are debilitating for me, keeping me in bed in the dark, living on Sprite and anti-nausea pills. I hope yours aren't quite as bad and you can find something to help you with them! 1 I appreciate your advice. I tried the pill about 10 years ago and had a bad reaction to it, but I imagine they've improved it since then. I will definitely consider it, thanks ladies!

2 Cali,I used to react badly to the bc pill, but now it really helps me. Our hormones change so much over the years that it's definitely worth a try. They have the low dose ones that work for most people.

I've had to go to a high dosage recently, but it's because I have to take anti-seizure meds that reduces the effect of the bc pill. We are hoping the higher dose will make a difference for me. Good luck!

" "can a women get pregnant two days before her period?" "can a women get pregnant 3 months after her period.

What's period when the women can not pregnant.

Can a women get pregnant if she missed her period that month.

Can a women get pregnant 3 months after her period.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
