Of course you still get the Gold, although answering questions does rack up your Gold exponentially faster if you provide good answers. No, sorry. You only earn experience points by answering questions. It doesn't take any experience to ask questions.
Actually, it doesn't take any experience to answer questions either. But it usually takes experience to answer questions well, hence the range of experience points and gold that you can receive (or lose). It can take experience to ask a "relevant" or "useful" question, but those are hard to guage, and there is no such thing as a stupid question.
I hope this helps.
I’m afraid that you only earn experience points by answering. Asking in my humble opinion is harder than answering because you have to be more creative than I am in order to think up bunches of good questions but in Askville the rewards are to be found exclusively in answering. You do get some gold for asking and then for voting on the answers that you get but not nearly so much as you can earn by answering. My advice to you would be for you to keep doing what you enjoy doing and in between asking questions you might see a question or two that you would like to answer but the whole point of being here is to have fun so do what you think is fun and don’t worry about the points Sources: my experience and opinion .
No. Experience points are only for answering questions. Actually we could have had experience points for asking questions but they would have been definitely in a different category!

Very Good Question! Although I don't think can earn any points by asking question, only be answering. I enjoy answering questions, even if I don't know the answer!
