Not necessarily. You must by law have an unrestricted view of the road behind your vehicle in at least two mirrors. It depends what you are towing the caravan with, and how wide the caravan is.
If the tow vehicle is wide enough for you to see the road behind in the side mirrors then you don't need them. If however you can't see the road behind because the caravan is wider than the tow vehicle then you must have mirror extensions. More.
