Obama doesn't lead with "Here's my legislative plan for you all to follow." Obama ran his campaign telling people that he would like a clear separation of powers, and he thinks that to give out a legislative plan goes against that. So Obama does what Obama does: He gives outlines.
He gives objectives. He talks about agendas. What he doesn't do is write legislation.
Whether or not that style of leadership is appropriate is a difference issue, but to take legislation and write it in the back office somewhere goes against his principles. Now to talk about the debt ceiling- I think Obama will invoke the 14th amendment Monday. I think Congress has this weekend to get something together.
If Boehner can get something passed that looks similar in scope to Reid, then the Senate will vote it down and put something together with pieces of Boehner's bill. Then they may even go to an up-or-down vote on some things to rush it through. But if it's too lop-sided or if the new bill doesn't pass the House, Obama will step in Monday night and invoke Executive powers to enforce the 14th amendment and fight it out in court.
I know . But what gets me is that Democrats in Office let Republicans set the agenda in the first place . Why?
Creating Jobs through Green energy for example and programs like the WPA would get people back to work and paying tax's as well as spending money . Democrats should be focusing on the people of our country Not on the elite Republican agenda.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
