For the same reason those militant atheists consider fundamental theism as being dangerous, bad, evil, delusional.
As an atheist told me once, peopel will always find a reason to kill each other. I know that atheists didn't do mass genocide, Mao was a Buddhist, Stalin was an orthodox christian, and hitler a catholic. However, there might be a day when atheists kill people, espeically to try to get rid of religion.
I find monotheism very dangerous and evil, but SOME atheists want to wipe out all religions, and to do this they would have to wipe out the people in the religions!
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
