I would totally join a stereotype if I could find the right one. It seems to not have ever worked out for me. I do think all stereotypes come from some (or maybe even a lot!) of truth, but life is way too short and dumb to let stereotypes be your guide.
I figure if you're trying to seize someone up based on your own bias, you should be an equal-opportunity bigot. Meaning this, if we pre-judge (which we all do), based on the tunnel vision of our limited experience, individuals should still have the opportunity to prove that wrong, without it being but so weird.
I would say they do, some people want to fit into at least one group.
I have, and still so sometimes. It's all about wanting to fit in, picking what the most popular stereotype is at the moment and seeing if you can adjust to it.
Everyone must have had it bad once or more times in their lives which has led to certain behaviors that would normally be viewed as abnormal......that really doesn't make anyone a stereotype.....i think the diffence is when a person lets the bad stuffs determine hoe they live their lives.....or knowing desides to act like a sterotype cause it's cool.
I don't think people really try to fit themselves to a certain stereotype. At least not most people. I think how you act and talk has to do with the people and the kind of environment you fit yourself to.
If you notice people that have been friends for a long time, you would most likely see that they tend to act, dress and talk the same. Kind of like accents. Have you ever known someone to move to a different part of the United States, like from the North and headed to the South?
Within a couple months they begin to get that Southern twang in their speech. I don't think it's stereotypical.
Well sure. Both consciously and subconsciously. It's part of human nature to want to belong to a group, seeing as how we're such social animals.
When I was younger, I use to think that I had it tough. My parents did not let me go out when I wanted to. I was a drama queen.
I use to dress in all black clothing. Black make-up, black bedroom. I notice a lot of teenagers that think they have problems wear all black.
Does that make me a sterotype for thinking that? Maybe.
It's easier for the majority of the people in the world to be part of a group instead of being alone.
Sometimes people will fit themselves in to a stereotype whether knowingly or unknowingly. Some people do this out of a yearning to belong to a group and others do it out of sheer lack of confidence or self-esteem. It's easier to be someone you are told to be.
If I ever fit a stereotype, it's probably that subconscious need to feel included.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
