There is a complex vetting process that both Saudi Arabia and the United States are using to make sure none of the refugees they are attempting to help (or train) have any ties with al-Nusra Front (the al-Qaeda-backed anti-Israel group put onto the terrorist list by Secretary Clinton), the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), or al-Qaeda itself. So far, this intensive background check has cleared only 10,000 refugees to come to the United States, but the U.S. has been sending humanitarian aid to the countries who have been inundated with fleeing families. The 500,000 refugees taken in by Angela Merkel in Germany represent only 0.6% of the German population, so the United States could and probably should take in more than just the 10,000 President Obama has cleared for asylum.
However, the political reality here in an election year cycles when the propaganda-dependent GOP leaders like to promote division and hatred to stir up their rabidly rightwing base...when coupled with the need to prevent any lone-wolf would-be terrorist attacks, is going to prevent the U.S. from having improperly vetted refugees from Syria or anywhere else brought here. We should do more...but will we? Not yet.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
