Do you believe in female ministers or pastors?

I only use the original languages of the Bible and literal translations. The bit in Corinthians says to not force women to take on the roles of men when the men will not take on their responsibilities in preaching or other! It does not at all instruct them to forced silence.

Knowing this, a preacher to whom I was engaged some time ago actually engraved a curse into the wedding band to prevent me from "preaching. " It did not work and I left a mentally ill person, to be sure. Although I have played a small part in helping gain church members and their salvation and healing; each church he has been assigned in his denomination for 25 yrs has become smaller and smaller and deader and deader after he was sent to it.

I wish him peace.

Absolutely! I would recommend the book Why Not women? By Loren cunningham and David Hamilton.

A great book that looks at Jesus Ministry, how cultures and churches have tried to restrict women and Jesus, God and equality.

I do believe in female ministers and pasters. There is a female speaker from Houston, Texas in one of the Baptist churches that gives speeches each week during the spring and fall. She is very inspirational and wonderful to listen to.

Well they are certainly a reality so I have no option but to believe in their existence. However, if you mean do I agree with them The answer has to be no. The Christian church has a policy of all male miniistry right from the start.

If you're female you can't be a reverend, whatever. I'm not saying that is right or wrong just that is how the Christian church has always worked. If the church allows women into these roles it ain't Christianity.

The question is much deeper than a short answer but I don't find enough impetus to write a hub about it.

Whomever God chooses is who he chooses. Whether man or woman they came with the word of God. The sex of the preacher will not sustain or preserve you, it's the word of God that does so.

Besides in the New Testament there is no longer man or woman or Jew or Gentile.

I, personally think Women are equally needed as pastors. I mean, why not?

The head pastor of the church I first attended in Ireland was a woman...The next large cell church ( now 60,000 strong) in London England had many female pastors...Im not going to debate the issue with the religious world as we could be doing that till the end of time....but the holy spirit leads us into all truth and led me to some amazing female pastors...just follow his leading and you cant go wrong..follow manmade religion and you will be trully confused and in bondage:0).

Not sure I have an answer for this one. The Bible says that the man is over the woman. It also says in I Corinthians 14:34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted to them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also said the law.

However, the Bible also states that man and woman are equal in the eyes of God. So I guess that is up to the reader and how he takes these verses.

We also need to take into context the beliefs of that time and how it was man who wrote that verse.

No, I believe what the Bible says regarding that issue in the pastoral epistles. But I want to say it is not about equality - it is about division of labor and not a "man is superior" issue.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
