I don't know how you are defining the word "smart" but there are many Americans who subscribe to her view of family values and appreciate her down to earth personality. That she is not sophisticated and, did not go to a top college - earning her degree in a longer period of time than is usual is all grist for the mill, and gives her detractors ample material to show her in a poor light. Many of us who listen to her and then hear her mocked by others just makes us more intent on ensuring Democrats lose as many seats as possible in the US mid term elections this year.
While I do not believe her to be a candidate for the presidency in 2012, I do believe she has something worth listening to - common sense. The word smart is meaningless although politicians would have us believe that they are smarter than the average voter.
You've shaped your view by the media and the slanted opinions of liberals. I'm a Palin supporter. I fly jets, have two university degrees and I'm about to complete my second master's degree.
I graduated magna *** laude; consistently made the dean's list; and made the national dean's list two years. I'm also a member of mensa, which in case you're not familiar, is an organization that restricts membership to people who have certified high IQ's. I have an IQ of 146, and not to brag, but it's in the gifted range.
I grew up and live in Alabama with what you'd probably label as rednecks, but my best subjects are math and physics, and in college most of the people I tutored were liberals from the great North. Maybe you need do a little research and take the very advice that liberals are always dishing out, (but seem unable to follow themselves), and not stereotype people. There's no correlation between level of intelligence and political party affiliation.
People are drawn to political parties for ideological reasons. Just because someone has a different opinion about something doesn't mean they're dumb or uneducated. You mentioned racism.
Well, I don't believe in racism myself, but just because someone else might be a racist doesn't mean they're dumb. We live in a free country and we're free to reach our own conclusions and form our own opinions. Hypothetically speaking, if I choose not to like someone because I think they're weird, different, or look and act strange, then I have a right to not like someone for those reasons.
If a Christian wants to think an Atheist is wrong or weird, they have a right to do that, just like Atheists have a right to think the same about Christians. Who is to say that a Christian is any dumber for believing in a God than an Atheist is for not believing in God? Besides, the truth is that NEITHER Christians nor Atheists can actually provide tangible evidence to support their claims.
My point is, chic opinions are not indicative of intellect. Opinions are something we all have and they do not reflect intelligence; they only reflect culture and individual life's experiences. Besides, the most widespread racism in America was founded by liberals and it's called affirmative action.
Simple reverse discrimination against primarily white males. Who is smarter; a person who is racist against whites, or a person who is racist against blacks?
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
