Do you consider yourself a racist if you support Arizona's immigration law?

Actually, a lot of gun control laws are racists. Anything that keeps guns expensive, keeps guns out of the hands of people who aren't of means (like black and poor people). The term, "saturday night special" is durived from "N****** Saturday Night.

A gun so cheap, black people can kill each other with." You'll find that many politicans just don't want "lesser" people to own guns. Frankly, I don't know what is in the law.

I think unchecked illegal immigration is a bad thing. I'm happy AZ is doing something. I know there are those that actually think that we'd be better off without guns, but this is a fairy tale.

Guns in the hands of good people is a good thing. We will never be a world without guns. Guns equal the playing field.

Justin, I'm always amazed at what some people consider "reasonable" gun control. Frankly, what you consider reasonable, I think of as an incredible breach of my rights and privacy. Its no ones business if I have (or don't) have a gun.

I don't have to ask anyone's permission, cause I'm free. I'm not gonna hurt anyone. I'm not going to make you buy a gun, so don't take mine away.

More of that "gun show loop hole" nonsense. Private sales is a great means for people to buy a used gun at a reduced cost. Not everyone can afford that thousand dollar H&K.

. Or eve that $500 Glock. EDIT: they didn't have any idea of th internet either.

Does that mean that 200 year old document doesn't apply to free speech either? (I'm just jabbing you a little : P) The intention of the 2nd ammendment was to allow the people have to power to overthrow a government that was infringing on their rights. Before 1986, you could buy any fully automatic rifle you wanted with a $200 tax stamp I want to say was added in 1930's, but unsure (True assault weapons).

You could order a gun from a catalog or hardware store. The avalability of guns does not cause crime. Some people are just going to be bad, and they need to be stoped by good people.

You do realize that a "gun show" does not negate any laws, right? All laws that apply to people buying and selling guns outside of a gunshow, also apply inside it? Not only that, there are always a bunch of ATF agents.

Most of the transactions that occur are through dealers. If you ever have a chance to go to a Saxet gun show in Texas, I highly recommend it. It is a blast.

I'm pro-gun and mostly for this law. I just wish they'd have better defined what a "lawful contact" is. If the police need probable cause such as in a car stop or arrest, then fine.

If "lawful contact" is simply any contact not specifically illegal, then they could walk right on up and ask the time of day, decide you might be illegal, and detain/ID you...which leads to search, etc. I've always believed we need a strong immigration law, but then US citizens shouldn't have to worry about whether they have their ID on them unless driving, or whether they can be detained (and searched) just because... It brings to mind "Your papers, please?

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
