Do you ever play the lottery? If so, do you ever (in your mind) forsee yourself winning and living out a luxurious life? Describe?

I play every once in a while. I feel like even if I lose, my money went to a good place, because the state uses it for general funds, such as education. If I won, I think I would become something of a recluse.

Right now, I can't imagine a happier life than just getting away from most people. I would move someplace without traffic, crowds, etc. I would also use my money as a buffer so I didn't need to deal with things I didn't want to deal with (I would definitely get a personal assistant for all things DMV, etc). I would use some of the money to set up a couple of foundations (one for helping people "get off the grid" by establishing their own energy source, and one for early childhood care), but I would put them into the hands of people I trusted and not do too much direct managing.

I would travel, study, and just generally do what I wanted to do. I wouldn't be interested in acquiring a lot of material goods, but I would definitely live comfortably, and mostly use the money to buy freedom.

I hardly ever play, but in my mind, I'm not living a luxurious life. I would live in a small house somewhere on a beach, but I would give most of my money away. I mean, how much money do you really need?

I would definitely save enough so that I would never want for anything again, but with the rest, I would set up a foundation to help children. I've always wanted to help children who went through horrible childhoods because of mentally ill parents.

I play the Lottery every week for a kick every day. Will it make my life luxurious, well I'd probably let someone else shovel the snow or maybe even put in a heated driveway.

Nope, I don't play. I feel that lottery winners will always have an asterisk beside their name, so anything they accomplish after their win doesn't fully "count". I'd rather work to get to the same place.

I play every week, starting playing the same numbers in what was then a weekly lottery, then they changed it to twice a week, then after quite a few years, they doubled the price, so after 20 years of playing the same numbers, I had to stop! Now I have started again, trying to stay away from playing the same numbers! There's a building in my city that used to be a Wal-Mart, it's always been a dream to open a mega-bar, I won't go into too many details!

But I beleive I will own that sucker some day!

I don't play but I do envision what will happen when I win. Hahahaha. I think the lottery is a waste of money given the odds.

When I say that, someone inevitably says, "Well someone has to win. " And really, no they don't. The other part to winning is the fact that after people win, they somehow become more miserable than before, at least the ones that lose it all and get documentaries made out of them.

Actually, I probably would play if I ever remembered to buy the tickets.

Yes, I do play occasionally. I buy maybe 3 or 4 tickets per year. Here are my reasons for justifying it: 1.

Funds from my state's lottery support education and scholarships, so even if I don't win, I look at it as a donation to those causes 2. It's fun to fantasize about winning multi-millions of dollars. I don't get disappointed if I lose, but it is interesting to think about every now and then.

This question reminded me that the Powerball is up to $115 million, and I need to buy a ticket before Wednesday! If I win, I'll buy you something nice for the reminder. ;).

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
