I have a few, each with a different use. I can recommend LiveBooks, PhotoShelter, and Printroom. My main portfolio site is with LiveBooks; they specialize in web sites for photographers. It’s easily customizable and they also make updating very easy.

A bit pricey but if it brings in even one client it’s probably worth it. My LiveBooks site is here. I also use PhotoShelter for image licensing and as an off-site archive.

You can do print sales through PhotoShelter, too. My PhotoShelter site is here . PhotoShelter also allows for customization so you can give it the same look and feel as your main site and in fact it can be integrated with LiveBooks sites.

One cool new feature of PhotoShelter is that it’s now integrated with FotoQuote so buyers can fill out a form describing how the image will be used and they’ll get a price quote. And I use Printroom for print sales. They're very good to work with and make very hiqh-quality prints.

I have my own websites I have my own websites that are essentially portfolios of my work. They’re fully functional websites but they are representative samples of my work in different areas. I’d love to show them to you if you’re interested but I won’t post them on here.

Having your portfolio on own website is good if you’re an established artist, but having it on a community site like deviant art or pbase can help get your name out there. I also have different forms of physical portfolios - I started out with the standard black case with the flip chart style pages (I bought mine at that site). Now I just use Shutterfly’s leather-bound photo books which have worked well for me in the past.

When you’re creating a portfolio though, keep in mind that you’re generally creating it for someone - ie, a buyer or publisher. And try to tailor your submissions to suit their requirements. On one recent job I got I was actually applauded by the client because my submission "didn’t look like a generic portfolio".

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
